The sailing ship Kingsbridge was discovered during Leigh Bishops Falmouth week in 2005. Leigh researched many marks for the project and several virgin wrecks were discovered. We used Ian Taylors Skin Deep day boat. Ian motored over from Weymouth for the week and provided an excellent service. See elsewhere for an interview with Ian.
Kingsbridge was launched in 1869 and was wrecked during 1878 while in passage to Australia with a cargo of pottery and porcelain figures and vases.
I have dived three times on Kingsbridge, during 2005 and 2006, and have about 40 minutes of footage. Click the projector for two minutes of video of artifacts, stern/rudder hinge and an admiralty anchor lying on deck.
